The purposes of this organization are to: (1) provide a support group for students to gather and share their common interests in the human service field, and (2) provide an opportunity for students to meet and interact with education, research, and human services agency personnel to help improve their skills. Our goal is to serve our community through service oriented projects and philiosophies.

A guest speaker from the YMCA will be joining us to talk about the possibility of practicum placements through some the Y's many programs, and also on a project that the club will be working on with the Y next quarter. Hey everybody!

The first club meeting for Fall Quarter will take place
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 10th IN ANGST HALL ROOM 136

There will be PIZZA, and we will be jumping right into our first service project for the year.

We'll be discussing several things including:

WSAME Conference
New HSERV Club Officers
Exciting Volunteer Opportunities

Want to help out at Skagit County's first FREE mulicultural festival for foster children, caregivers, and the community?Then join the folks down at this fun filled event; EMBRACING OUR CULTURAL IDENTITY- Why culture is important." This event is taking place on September 22nd from 9:00am - 2:30pm at Skagit Valley Community College.
This event is being sponsored by various organizations and businesses within our community and hosted by the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS).
We still need volunteer help on that day for the following:
----Set-up, tear-down, and various duties throughout the day.
We are also in need of the following:
----Paper plates, plastic wear, napkins, cups for hot beverages, non perishable snack items and fruit that does not need to be cut or peeled.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
