Here at Posey EMS, we know that mental health matters just as much as physical health. First responders face unique challenges every day, and no one should carry those burdens alone.

That’s why we are proud to have coworkers who have our backs and a Peer Support Team dedicated to supporting our crews through difficult calls, stressful moments, and everyday challenges. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is reach out, talk, and support one another.

As May is Mental Health Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to check in on themselves, check in on each other, and remember: it’s okay to ask for help.

Yesterday we laid to rest not only an officer, but a friend. He wasn’t a man of many words. If you didn’t know any better, you would think that his overall disposition was grumpy and serious. And yet, the side of him that many of us saw had a dry sense of humor, an ability to talk to anyone in a way that made them comfortable, and you knew you had made it on his friend list when he brought you his homemade salsa, soup, or pickles. He never hesitated to stop by the station whether it was to have a chat, drop off some food, or even to have us check him out. He will be greatly missed, and we pray for all of those who know him and love him. RIP Officer Tony Stallings.

Happy Earth Day! Yesterday morning, a group of us participated in and completed the Bob Ross “Happy Little (Virtual) 5K”, coordinated by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation (INRF). Proceeds support tree planting and forest protection efforts in state parks. Suffice it to say, our group had a fun time together! Indiana DNR Division of Forestry

🚑 April Fools… or is it? 👀
We’d like to announce that starting today, all of our EMS units will be equipped with self-driving ambulances and a new “patient teleportation system” to get you to the hospital instantly. Just say the word and p**f you’re there! ✨

…Okay, okay. April Fools 😄

But here’s something REAL (and pretty exciting): we’ve now had our Life Pack 35 cardiac monitors on all trucks for almost a year now and we’re proud to have been the first EMS agency in our area to have them in use.

Over that time, our crews have been learning, adapting, and getting fully comfortable with the new technology.

These monitors bring some big benefits for patient care, including enhanced cardiac monitoring and diagnostics as well as offers more advanced tools to support critical decision-making in the field.

While we may not have teleportation (yet 😉), we are continuing to invest in tools that help us provide faster, smarter, and better care for our community every day. We are looking forward to having other area agencies utilizing them as we always support the equally high-quality care they provide. We are confident these monitors benefit all of our communities!
