6am update from the National Weather Service:

Relatively weak thunderstorms are moving into Southeast Missouri this morning from the west. Some of them may briefly increase in intensity and approach severe limits, but widespread severe weather is not expected today.

The potential for severe weather on Monday continues to look about the same. We will have to continue to watch as the forecast picture develops and higher resolution data starts to come into range later today and Saturday. For now, a risk for tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail all continues mainly Monday afternoon and evening. The risk is perhaps slightly higher from about Murray to Mt. Vernon and west from there, but it exists across the entire area.
