Mount Vernon is located halfway between Dallas and Texarkana. Interstate 30 runs within our City Limits. Over $2 million reinvested in the community. Projects have included providing funding assistance to Lowe's Distribution Center, Highway 37 reconstruction, ALCO infrastructure, Don Meredith Exhibit, Nations Bird Egg Exhibit, Cultural Arts Center, Mount Vernon Music, Art Music Park for Children, Little Creek Park hiking trails, Bankhead Highway Visitors Center, Love's Country Stores infrastructure assistance, grant assistance for community projects, Texas Capital Fund Main Street grant 'match' assistance, Lucky 7 Pit Stop, Interstate 30 signage, Main Street Market, retail small business incentives, and rail infrastructure assistance.
