Last week a Groundbreaking was held to celebrate an important Milestone for Rockcastle County. The Construction of this Natural Gas line will provide economic development opportunities for generations. Rockcastle was 1 of only 6 counties in the state that did not have a Natural Gas transmission line but that has been achieved through a collaborative effort starting with Rockcastle and Lincoln County leaders that evolved into numerous partners across our state.
Utility Partners like Delta Natural Gas and Jackson Energy Kentucky's Touchstone Energy Cooperatives provide much needed support to assist our local rural communities in being viable and competitive for economic development opportunities.

Appreciate Martin Contracting, Inc. for recording this historic event and their continued efforts to deliver this project as quickly as possible to completion. Appreciate Charlie Napier WRVK 1460 AM-Country Charlie Michael French and Mount Vernon Signal for coverage of the event.

Please join us in congratulating our Executive Director Jeff VanHook on receiving the 2024 Jim Walton Community Impact Award at the “Stand Up Rural America Summit” that was held in French Lick, IN earlier this week. We couldn’t be prouder of Jeff and his representation of not only Rockcastle County but the entire region. Through Jeff’s vision and leadership we are seeing opportunities for our county and region come available that were only a pipedream in the not too distant past. We are thrilled that his hard work, dedication and passion to promote and represent our community is being recognized on a national stage. Congratulations Jeff…an honor well deserved!
