We are the library for Cornell College, as well as functioning as the public library for Mount Vernon and the surrounding communities. The first library in Mount Vernon was established with the help of Carnegie funds on September 13th, 1905. Our present building was completed with the help of the Olin foundation in 1957, and is named for Cornell College's 9th president, Russell D. The original Car

negie library is still located on campus, but has been renovated and renamed the Norton Geology Center and Anderson Museum. Now, the library is home to amazing and valuable resources for both the college and public communities. Our collection ranges from picture books to research materials to board games, all available for check out. The college archive is located in our building, and serves to help alumni, researchers, and hobbyists every year. Our brightest and best, however, are the three studios that make up the Center for Teaching and Learning. The Quantitative Reasoning studio, where students can find help with statistics, mathematics homework, and research questions. In our Writing Studio, students receive help in every stage of writing for every kind of paper, from introduction to citation. The Writing Studio is also a resource for resume and cover letters, among many other services. The Academic Technology studio hosts state-of-the-art technologies, such as 3-d printers, photo and video editing software, and high resolution scanners.
