🚨 SCAM ALERT: Arrest Warrant Phone Scam 🚨

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of a phone scam targeting residents. Here’s what you need to know.

How the scam works:
A caller claims you missed a jury trial and that a bench warrant has been issued for your arrest.
They will text you a fake warrant that looks official.
The caller instructs you to go to a kiosk at a specific location and make payment to avoid going to jail.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: This is a scam. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office or Courts will NEVER call you to demand payment or threaten arrest over the phone.

If you receive this type of call:
âś… Do NOT send money or share personal information.
âś… Hang up immediately.
âś… Do NOT click on any links or open attachments sent by the caller.
âś… Report the scam to your local law enforcement and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
✅ Warn friends and family so they don’t fall victim.

Stay alert and protect yourself!

If you have any doubts about the legitimacy of the call, contact your local Law Enforcement or court directly using official phone numbers, never trust unsolicited calls.
