To help keep you and your family safe, please take time before the storm arrives to prepare:

• Ensure you have propane and gasoline
• Stock up on firewood
• Refill all necessary medications

• Have an adequate supply of drinking water
• Charge phones and emergency devices

And although forecast due tend to change, you can never be too prepared!

Happy New Year from the Mount Vernon Police Department!

As you make plans for tonight, remember—buzzed driving is drunk driving. Alcohol continues to be a leading factor in fatal roadway crashes, and nearly every one of those deaths was preventable.

As usual, our officers will be out patrolling tonight to help keep everyone safe. If you choose to drink and drive, you will go to jail. This New Year’s Eve, plan ahead and protect your family and neighbors. Drive sober or get pulled over!
