Posey County Soil & Water Conservation District At The Posey County Soil and Water Conservation District, we are committed to protecting and improving our soil and water resources.

Our team is dedicated to providing education and resources to the community on conservation and management practices. The Posey County Soil & Water Conservation’s social media accounts are monitored by staff to inform the public about activities and events. The Indiana State Department of Agriculture is once again offering a no-cost, soil sampling program for producers in the Mississippi River Basin.

This program focuses on soil sampling and testing because it is a key component, and first step, of developing a plan for nutrient management. This program includes pasture, hay and specialty crop fields located within Indiana’s portion of the Mississippi River Basin.
