* Until 1030 PM EDT.

* At 629 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Swainsboro, Soperton, Twin City, Stillmore, Oak Park, Garfield,
Nunez, Tarrytown, Lexsy, Covena, Gillis Springs, Norristown,
Normantown, Zaidee, Kibbee, Blackville, George L Smith State Park,
Lothair and Barnhill.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southeastern Telfair, southeastern Wheeler and southwestern Montgomery Counties through 730 PM EDT

At 705 PM EDT, a line of strong thunderstorms was along a line
extending from Jordan to near Snipesville, and moving north at 15
mph.

HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind, frequent cloud to ground lightning and
heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Locations impacted include...
Lumber City, Uvalda, Alston, Towns, Spring Hill, Jordan, and

miles northwest of Plant Hatch. This storm was nearly stationary.

ALTHOUGH, the Georgia Forestry burn ban has been lifted, MONTGOMERY COUNTY STILL REMAINS under a COUNTY-ISSUED burn ban.

All residential and open burning of yard debris is still prohibited within the county.

The public will be notified as soon as the burn ban has been lifted.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Montgomery Co. BOC or Georgia Forestry Commission.
