HIGH FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING FOR MOST OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA DUE TO LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES
Special Weather Statement issued October 22 at 1:02AM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA
Relative Humidities of 28 percent or less can be expected for 4
or more hours this afternoon into the evening. Winds will be out
of the north to variable at 3 to 8 MPH.

With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities
whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside,
use extreme caution.

Cooler and less humid conditions for the eastern third of the nation as a cold slides off the east coast. Combination of dry and breezy conditions may result in spread of wildfires across the lower Mississippi Valley. In addition, fire weather conditions linger into portions of Southern California.....

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central,
northeast, northwest, southeast, and west central Georgia,
including the following areas, in central Georgia, Baldwin, Bibb,
Bleckley, Butts, Crawford, Dodge, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Laurens,
Monroe, Montgomery, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, Telfair, Twiggs,
Wheeler, Wilcox and Wilkinson. In east central Georgia, Emanuel,
Glascock, Greene, Hancock, Jefferson, Johnson, Taliaferro,
Treutlen, Warren, Washington and Wilkes. In north central Georgia,
Barrow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dawson, DeKalb, Douglas, Fannin,
Fayette, Forsyth, Gilmer, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Lumpkin, Morgan,

Good morning,

Over night we had two separate reports of trees down. Sheriff's Deputies and fire crews were dispatched and the roadways were cleared without incident.

At daylight county crews were deployed to assess any possible damage. We are pleased to report that no further damage was found thus far.

We are extremely grateful to our Emergency Management crews, Sheriff's Office, Road Department, and Fire Departments for their quick and safe response to maintain the safety of our county.

If you have to be out, please travel with safety and continuing using caution as we still have crews monitoring our area.

* Tornado Warning for...
Central Montgomery County in central Georgia...

* Until 215 AM EDT.

* At 203 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Uvalda, or 7 miles south of Mount Vernon, moving
north at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Mount Vernon and Ailey.
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter

At 140 AM EDT, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a
strong storm within a tropical rain band near McNatt Falls, or near
Hazlehurst, moving north at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Enhanced risk of a brief tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Storms embedded within a tropical rainband have exhibited
localized rotation. A brief tornado could quickly form.

Locations impacted include...
Mount Vernon, Uvalda, and Charlotteville.
People outdoors should seek shelter immediately.
