TRANSFER STATION STICKERS — PICK YOURS UP STARTING TOMORROW

Starting in September, a Town of Mount Vernon sticker will be required to use the transfer station. Stickers are in at the Town Office and staff will begin issuing them tomorrow.

Here's what you need to know:

One sticker per vehicle. If you've got more than one vehicle using the transfer station, bring the information for each.

Guests and visitors get a temporary pass. Family in for the weekend, a contractor hauling a load for you — the Town Office can issue a temporary pass so nobody gets turned away.

Don't wait until September. The requirement kicks in at the start of the month, and the first few weeks are always the busiest. Grab yours now and skip the line.

The sticker system helps us make sure the transfer station is serving Mount Vernon residents — which keeps our costs where they belong. It's a small step at the counter that saves the Town real money over the year.

The TOWN BEACH will be CLOSED Wednesday, July 15 due to the planned cutting of the two dangerous willow trees along the shoreline.
