The Sunshine Center is now an official SCT stop. This allows seniors age 60 or older transportation to the center for a donation only.

If you are in need of a ride to the Sunshine Center, it is now an official SCT bus stop at 13th Street and Perkins. Seniors 60 and older living in Mt. Vernon can utilize the bus service for a donation only.

ATTENTION MT. VERNON CITY SHUTTLE RIDERS...The Washington 1 & 2 shuttle route is being revised. EFFECTIVE May 1, 2026, we will be stopping at 13th & Perkins (Sunshine Senior Nutrition Center). With this newly added stop, times at existing stops may have changed. For your convenience, we are including the revised Washington 1 & 2 route schedule with this post. Please take a minute to review the revisions to this route and plan accordingly.

The Community Support Group enthusiastically applauded the 2026 Ride the Wall Motorcycle Group as they traversed our region yesterday. Ride the Wall is the largest and longest organized cross-country motorcycle run, spanning from California to Washington D.C. and concluding in Marseille, Illinois. In excess of 1800 participants honor fellow riders who can no longer ride through this annual May event.
