August birthdays mean sunshine, smiles, good food, and another reason to celebrate together at NASSC! We had a wonderful time honoring our August birthday members and sharing a day filled with laughter, friendship, and plenty of delicious food.

A big thank you to Vicki for preparing another fantastic homemade Fixins’ Friday meal for everyone to enjoy. And, of course, our Birthday Bash wouldn't be complete without a sweet ending! 🎂 Thank you to our wonderful friends at Country Meadows for once again providing the delicious birthday cakes that make our monthly celebrations extra special.

Good food, great friends, and happy memories—that's what Birthday Bash days are all about. Happy Birthday to all of our August celebrants! We hope the year ahead brings you many more reasons to smile. 💛

Thanks so much Chris Sacks Band and Laura for welcoming staff and members of the Northeastern Senior Center to this performance! What a great weekend in Kent Island! Course, praising our work and mission to your audience was totally unexpected and appreciated. On top of it all, raising money for our new building for the 2nd year in a row! WOW! WOW! I was so lucky to hear your performance in Hanover and talk you into performing for my seniors way up here. Who would have thought Chris and Laura would become true friends to all of us! 🎆☀️ Our July Birthday Bash was one to remember! We celebrated another wonderful group of birthday members with a day full of sunshine, laughter, delicious food, and the company of good friends.

Our members enjoyed a classic summer cookout featuring juicy hamburgers, hot dogs, and delicious sides. A heartfelt thank you to Heather and her mom, Fay, for generously donating the food for our celebration, and to Vicki for preparing another wonderful meal that brought everyone together around the table. ❤️

Then came a refreshing summer surprise! Our incredible friends from Country Meadows —Tammy and Shane—joined us to personally serve Rita's Italian Ice to our birthday guests and members. 🍧 Their generosity, cheerful smiles, and time spent visiting with everyone made the afternoon even more memorable.

We'd also like to thank Melissa's other half for stopping by to lend a hand and enjoy the celebration with us.

Days like these remind us how fortunate we are to be surrounded by caring members, volunteers, staff, families, and community partners who continually find ways to give back. The food was plentiful, the treats were delicious, and the fellowship was the best part of all.

Happy Birthday to all of our July celebrants! Thank you to everyone who helped make this month's Birthday Bash such a special one. We are truly blessed! 🎉🎂❤️

💙 We always LOVE celebrating when friends stop by—especially PA State Rep. Joe D'Orsie on one of his regularly scheduled volunteer days with our Home Delivered Meals program!

Whether he's catching up with our members, enjoying a cup of coffee while waiting for his delivery route, or lending a helping hand to our Meals on Wheels volunteers, Joe is always a welcome and familiar face at the Northeastern Senior Center.

Thank you, Joe, for your continued support of our seniors, our Home Delivered Meals program, and the work we do each day. We truly appreciate your time, your service, and your friendship. ❤️

🎉 We made the WGAL News Channel 8 Wakeup Call! 🎉

During our Music & Fun on the Lawn celebration for Older Americans Month, WGAL's Morrissey Walsh stopped by to capture the joy, laughter, and incredible spirit of our members. She even submitted our Wakeup Call along with her news story from the event!

This short clip is just a glimpse of what aging can look like when you stay connected, keep moving, and enjoy life together.

At the Northeastern Senior Center, we believe every step counts—whether it's with dancing shoes, a walker, a cane, or a scooter. ❤️ The smiles, friendships, music, and memories are what make our center feel like home.

Happy 250th Birthday, America!

Today, we celebrate 250 years of independence, resilience, and the enduring spirit that has united generations of Americans.

As we gather with family, friends, neighbors, and even new faces along parade routes and under fireworks-filled skies, we're reminded that some of life's greatest moments are the ones we share together.

Our nation's journey has been one of perseverance, hope, and progress. While we've faced challenges along the way, we've continued to move forward—building stronger communities and creating opportunities for future generations.

May this Independence Day bring joy, laughter, gratitude, and many blessings to you and those you love.

☀️🎉 June birthdays were shining bright at the Northeastern Senior Center! What a wonderful day spent celebrating our June Birthday Bash with great food, great friends, and lots of laughter.

Our members enjoyed a delicious homemade lunch of stuffed peppers and fresh bread, lovingly prepared by Vicki for our monthly Fixins' Friday. To top it all off, our friends at Country Meadows treated everyone to their always-delicious birthday cakes, making the celebration even sweeter. 🎂💙

It was especially fun celebrating our birthday honorees, welcoming William, our wonderful student volunteer, to join us for lunch, and discovering we had birthday twins in the house—Holly & Audrey! 🎉🎈

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable. It's wonderful moments like these that remind us how special our NASSC family truly is.

Here's to another year of friendship, laughter, and wonderful memories. Happy Birthday to all of our June celebrants! 🥳💐

Cheryl Ann Callahan has stopped at Riverview Community Action Corp. almost every day for the past six years. She exercises, crafts and spends time with her friends.
