** WATCHING FOR INCREASED WIND GUSTS THURSDAY MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON **

While there may be a risk for stronger thunderstorms tomorrow (western PA very early morning, eastern PA mid-afternoon), everyone will be feeling the windy conditions tomorrow! A potentially record-setting low-pressure system will be moving through the Great Lakes region, allowing for a tight pressure gradient. With a tighter pressure gradient due to this low pressure, the winds will increase across the region. This is why we usually see our strongest winds occur in the fall and winter months, as there is normally some sort of gradient in place with stronger low-pressure systems passing through. These winds in the summer months are quite rare, outside of thunderstorms, of course.

SPOTTY POWER OUTAGES: Given the vegetation and heavily leafed trees, a few power outages cannot be ruled out in far eastern Pennsylvania, especially in areas that are more prone to limb/tree damage.

Stay tuned!

FYI...

Currently severe thunderstorm watches to our north and west but not for our region. Latest update indicates 80% chance watch gets issued for parts of our area, mostly likely the southeastern region. Main threat would be damaging wind gusts as thunderstorms track eastward.
