Today is a historical day for Northeastern Regional Police Department, York Area Regional Police Department, York County and the state of Pennsylvania. Today marks the start of the York County Regional Police Department. The combined merger of two Pennsylvania regional police departments into one larger entity. To our knowledge, this has never happened in Pennsylvania. The creation of this new, combined regional department came about from a lot of hard work by elected officials, administrative staff, command staff, and rank and file staff, from both regional departments and the municipalities that they serve. We are proud to say that no administrative or sworn staff lost their employment during this merger. By sharing costs, and combining staff and resources, this merger will benefit all of the communities and citizens served by the York County Regional Police Department.

I have had the pleasure of serving as a Northeastern Regional Police officer for the past 24 years, including the past 12, as your Police Chief. While part of me is sad to see the Northeastern Regional Police Department end, I am excited to be part of the new, York County Regional Police Department. I look forward to continuing serving the communities with the York County Regional Police Department as your Deputy Chief of Police. Please know that I am committed to continuing to provide the best police services to all of the communities, and citizens of the jurisdictions covered by York County Regional Police Department. I have confidence in Chief Damon, our command staff, administrative staff, and rank and file staff, to continue to provide the best police services possible. You will see the same, if not better, professional police services, that you have enjoyed with the Northeastern Regional Police Department and the York Area Regional Police Department. As always my door is open to hear your comments and concerns. Feel free to call or stop in to see me at the Northeastern division of the new, York County Regional Police Department.

As of 12/27/2021 Both Northeastern Regional PD officers and York Area Regional PD officers, will be covering all jurisdictions covered by both departments until January 1, 2022 when both departments will be come one, as York county Regional PD. (YCRPD)
