Today we celebrated a truly special group of 6th graders at Honors Day and Graduation. As we reflected on their accomplishments, leadership, growth, and character, we were reminded just how much this class has impacted our school community.
A highlight of the ceremony was recognizing the recipients of the Theresa K. Meyer Outstanding Citizenship Award, named in memory of a beloved former teacher whose kindness and enthusiasm left a lasting legacy. This award honors students who are kind, cooperative, cheerful, reliable, respectful, and exemplary members of their community. Congratulations to Mary Gray Darden and Hodges Reese for embodying these qualities so beautifully.
We also celebrated Mrs. Mica Nichols as the recipient of the Stewart Sevier Award. Through STEM, Robotics, leadership, and even stepping into math class when needed, Mrs. Nichols has made an unforgettable impact on the lives of students. Her ability to make learning joyful, build confidence, and make every student feel seen and valued is truly extraordinary.
To our graduates: we are so proud of the leaders, learners, and people you have become. Your future is bright, and we cannot wait to see all that you accomplish next. Once a Lancer, always a Lancer! ♥️
