We are deeply concerned about the missing person case, and our thoughts are with the individual and their loved ones during this difficult time. The individual was dropped off at the Pít Stop by RSO on 12/22 around 4:00 pm, following a DUI arrest that occurred in Garner Valley.
While the driver was cited and arrested for DUI by CHP, the passenger was released and dropped off by RSO. We do not know whether the passenger was impaired. However, the circumstances surrounding a DUI arrest can place an individual in a vulnerable position, and we believe those circumstances warrant careful consideration of a person’s safety at the point of release.
The Santa Rosa Band of Cahuilla Indians, through the Santa Rosa Pít Stop, is fully cooperating with local law enforcement and has provided all requested information to assist in their ongoing investigation. We remain committed to supporting their efforts in every way possible.
Out of respect for the individual, their family, and the integrity of the investigation, we are unable to share further details at this time. We ask for your understanding as authorities continue their work.
We are hopeful for a safe resolution and encourage anyone with relevant information to contact local law enforcement directly. Our hearts are with the family, and we join the community in hoping for positive news.
