🚗 Important Parent Pickup Safety Update:

Beginning Monday, parents will not be permitted to line up in the parent pickup lane before 2:55 PM. Vehicles arriving earlier will be asked by an officer to move until the pickup line opens.

This change is being made to help keep our students safe and to ensure traffic continues to flow safely around the school. Please also remember to follow local traffic laws and avoid blocking the four-lane highway while waiting for pickup.

Student safety is one of our highest priorities, and we truly appreciate your help and cooperation in keeping our pickup process safe and smooth for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support of our school! ❤️

On 03/03/2026, we were notified that someone had caused significant damage to the park lawn caused by someone doing "doughnuts" with their vehicle. Our park is a shared community space meant for families, kids, and outdoor activities - not off-road driving. Repairing this damage takes time and taxpayer money. If you have any information about the owner of this truck, please contact the Chief of Police at 423-727-2905.

Thank you,
Joey Norris
Chief of Police

During the City Council meeting on February 3rd, 2026. The Mountain City Police Department and the City Council Members had the honor of presenting Zachary Reece and Sgt. Ricky Norris with a Medal of Valor. On March 31, 2025, during a response to a structure fire, Sgt. Ricky Norris and Patrolman Zachary Reece displayed exceptional valor. Upon arrival at the structure fire, Sgt. Norris and Officer Reece observed a female sitting in a wheelchair attempting to exit the residence. The house was in flames, and black smoke was heavily billowing out of the residence over the female's head. Sgt. Norris and Officer Reece entered the house, picked her up, and dragged her to a safer distance away from the residence. They acted with remarkable calm, determination, and courage. Their actions directly resulted in a life save and reflect the very best of what it means to serve.
