When seconds matter, training makes the difference.

Airmen sharpened their lifesaving skills during Tactical Combat Casualty Care training, learning how to assess injuries, control bleeding, and provide critical care in high-stress environments. These skills help ensure our Airmen are prepared to save lives—whether at home station or downrange.

State Highway 167 has reopened following the completion of cleanup and roadway repairs. SH-167 was closed while the Navy removed aircraft wreckage and potentially hazardous materials from the roadway and surrounding landscape.

The Idaho Transportation Department thanks motorists and local residents for their patience during the closure.

SH-167 near Mountain Home Airforce Base is now open. ✅

Following the aircraft crash on May 17, the Navy team have completed aircraft wreckage and hazardous material removal from the highway and surrounding area. ITD crews have also repaired damaged sections of the roadway and rebuilt the shoulders to safely reopen the route to travelers.

Thank you to local residents and motorists for their patience during the closure.

On June 6, 1944, allied forces launched Operation Overlord, better known as D-Day, the largest amphibious invasion in history and the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe during World War II.

While today's Gunfighters fly the F-15E Strike Eagle, their predecessors in the 366th Fighter Group flew the P-47 Thunderbolt over the Normandy beaches on D-Day. B-24 Liberator pilots and crews who trained at Mountain Home Army Air Field also contributed to the Allied victory in Europe.

Eighty-two years later, we honor the courage, sacrifice and determination of those who fought to secure freedom for future generations.
