Finally, things have settled down enough that I can take the time to thank all of those involved in my retirement.

I want to start off by saying how overwhelmed I am by the number of people that reached out over FB, Instagram, email, text, card, letters and more, all wishing me the best in my next adventure. I cannot begin to thank each one of you individually and I apologize for that. It was humbling to have so many people reach out with kind words.

There are a few people that I must thank specifically for their efforts. The staff, and Mayor of the city gave me an incredible retirement ceremony, one that I will never forget. Nikki Stornetta, thank you for a wonderful presentation and the very kind words. It was beyond words having you include my family in the ceremony! Chief Moore and my brothers and sisters of the department, thank you for the presentations and gifts, I was extremely honored.

To my girls at City Hall, I love you all so much and will miss you incredibly. Thank you all for the great gift. I will send pictures from the river! Mayor Sykes, thank you my friend. Your gifts and kind words will never be forgotten. MH Parks & Rec, that was the best presentation I could not have asked for more. So much thought went into it and we all really enjoyed it! MHPD, the plaque is already on the wall.

To those that attended my ceremony and/or party, and left gifts, I am so lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life, thank you all so much!

To my daughters and family, you all put in so much work and time, and went way above and beyond to make my retirement so incredible!! I love you all so much! I cannot even begin to come up with the right words to express my gratitude!

I am sure I left somebody important out, but that does not mean I did not appreciate you.

There are so many things I will miss, but I will always have the incredible memories to keep with me.

It was an honor and privilege to serve the city and department for the last 28 years. I truly hope I left it better than I found it.

Thank you all so much for your support and friendship!

Santa’s Mailbox

Santa’s official mailbox is out and ready to recieve letters. Each year the members of the Mountain Home Fire Department are granted special access to the big man himself, Santa Claus. At this time of the year, Santa is extremely busy, so Santa has asked the Firemen for help. The Firemen take the letters written to Santa and deliver them to the North Pole. Once Santa answers them, Elves return the letters to the Fire Department members, who then deliver them back to the children via a Shiny Red Sleigh (firetruck). The Firemen even give every child a candy cane for being so good this year.

Letters from Santa will be delivered to children on Dec. 11th & 18th, between 6pm & 8pm. Letters to Santa need to have a good physical address and phone number along with the child’s name. Letters from families should be bundled together to make sure letters are all delivered on the same night. The mailbox will be picked up on Dec. 17th at 4:00pm. The mailbox is located at Fire Station 1, on the corner of S 2nd E & E 2nd S.
