Arkansas remains at an increased risk for wildfire. Sixty‑two counties are currently at high risk, and the remaining 13 are at moderate risk. Burn bans are in effect in 63 counties. Under these conditions, fires can ignite easily, spread quickly, and become serious if not addressed right away. Even small brush fires or campfires can escape.

The public is urged to avoid activities that could unintentionally start a fire and to follow all local burn restrictions. To reduce wildfire risk:

🚫Avoid outdoor debris burning.
🚫Do not discard ci******es outside.
🚫Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass.
🚫Use caution with equipment that creates sparks.
🚫Never leave any outdoor flame unattended.

Report wildfire smoke or fire immediately to Forestry Dispatch at 1‑800‑468‑8834.

FD was paged as Auto-Aid with Tracy Area Fire & Rescue for a large Brush Fire in the area of CR 69 and Awesome Ln. Fire was reported to be between 15-20 acres, Tracy FD was also assisted by Rodney Jordan Volunteer Fire Department, Buford Volunteer Fire Dept, and Norfork Volunteer Fire Department, Arkansas Department of Agriculture was also on scene. Crews were on scene approximately 6 hours.

Today after being on a waitlist for 3 years, Chief made the trip to forestry and picked up a 30kw generator from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture. This is great for the City of Salesville as we can now fully power the community center and fire department in the event of natural disaster or power loss for an extended amount of time.

Across Arkansas, wildland firefighters, foresters, rangers, and volunteer departments are facing more fires and more dangerous conditions. When a wildfire starts, they move toward heat, smoke, and unpredictable terrain to protect our forests, our homes, and our communities. They do this knowing the risks, and they do it day after day.

We can support them by following burn bans, staying weather aware, and being fire smart in our daily activities. Give crews and equipment the room they need to work and take time to thank the people who serve on the line and in our communities.

Our firefighters stand ready when Arkansas needs them. Let’s do our part to help keep them safe.

Fire/Rescue was paged the area of Peals Resort for a Motor Vehicle Accident with unknown injuries. Patient was able to self extricate and refused medical attention. Salesville was assisted on scene by Tracy Area Fire & Rescue

🔥Wildfire risk is increased across Arkansas, and the Department of Agriculture is asking residents to stay alert and use caution. Dry weather has made it easier for fires to start and harder to keep them contained, which means even small outdoor fires can spread quickly under the right conditions.
