As part of the Guadalupe River Flood Warning System, our first set of outdoor warning sirens have been successfully delivered to Kerr County. Our team and stakeholders hosted a meet and greet with OmniWarn and Federal Signal representatives prior to installation beginning. This was a great opportunity to connect, get a close up of the sirens, and ask questions. This marks another key milestone as preparations continue for installation.

Strong partnerships are key to delivering successful infrastructure projects and we appreciate the support of Kerr County, Kerr Together, our cities, and other partners like the Lower Colorado River Authority, KPUB, CTEC, HCTC, the United States Geological Survey, and the Texas Water Development Board.

On February 27, the Divide VFD was toned out for a grass fire in the Jackson Ranch Subdivision on US 83 North. The fire was fast moving in heavy fuel. We called many departments in to assist with fire fighting and structure protection. Thanks to all that came out to assist, great job ! Texas Forest Service brought SEATs ( single engine air tankers ) and LATS ( large air tankers) in to drop retardant and bulldozers in to push lines around the fire . A Wyoming task force came out to help us as well ! Thank you to all departments. Junction, Mountain Home, Rocksprings, Leakey, Hunt , Ingram, Turtle Creek, Centerpoint, and Tierra Linda ! Also Edwards EMS for brining sandwiches!

Yall pay attention!

Texas A&M Forest Service has raised the Wildland Fire Preparedness Level to Level 3 due to unseasonably warm, dry conditions and freeze‑cured grasses that are expected to increase wildfire activity beginning today.

🔥 Rapidly drying vegetation in the High Plains today through Tuesday, combined with critical to locally extreme fire weather, will elevate fire danger and may make new starts difficult to control. Conditions are expected to remain elevated into Wednesday and expand toward the I‑35 corridor by Thursday.

We continue to monitor the situation and stand ready to respond to any requests for assistance.
