⚠️ 🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE – PHONE SCAM ALERT ☎️

The Mountain Home Police Department is aware of an active phone scam in which individuals are spoofing our department’s non-emergency phone number and falsely identifying themselves as employees of the Mountain Home Police Department.

What is “spoofing”?
Spoofing is when a scammer disguises the phone number they are calling from so that your caller ID displays a different, legitimate phone number. Even if your caller ID shows the Mountain Home Police Department’s phone number, it does not necessarily mean the call is actually coming from our department.

We have received reports that these scammers are claiming to be employees of the Police Department and telling individuals that they must provide money, payment, or gift cards or they will be arrested.

The Mountain Home Police Department will NEVER call you and demand payment or gift cards to avoid arrest.

If you receive a suspicious call:

⭐Do not provide personal, financial, or banking information.
⭐Do not purchase gift cards or send money.
⭐Do not rely solely on the number displayed on your caller ID.
⭐Hang up and contact the Mountain Home Police Department directly to verify the call.

If you have any questions or are unsure whether a call is legitimate, we strongly encourage you to hang up and call the Mountain Home Police Department yourself at 870-425-6336.

Please share this information with your family, friends, neighbors, and especially those who may be more vulnerable to these types of scams.

A huge THANK YOU to Harps Food Stores for their continued support of our community!

Harps has once again demonstrated what it means to be a true community partner by donating to local police and fire department charities while giving their customers the opportunity to be part of that generosity.

The Mountain Home Police Department is incredibly grateful that the funds designated for our department will help support our annual Shop with a Cop program. This program allows us to make the holidays brighter for local children and families, creating lasting memories while strengthening the relationships between our officers and the community we proudly serve.
