Good Morning, There is some misinformation spreading, asserting that Raj advocates for raising taxes to foster business growth in MH. I want to tell my neighbors that I don't want to put more financial pressure on us. With the already high property taxes in MH, I don't think we should add to it. Whether we vote for Measure D or not, taxes based on property size might go up by a maximum of 4 percent each year (If a decision is at the discretion of the city board) and property taxes could increase over time based on valuation of the property which is no more than 2 percent. I plan to collaborate with the City Manager and Council to come up with innovative solutions for increasing revenue. My goal is to find alternative sources of income so that we can alleviate the burden of special taxes on our residents in the future.

Who am I?
Greetings, I'm Raj Reddy, a resident of Mountain House for the past 18 years. I reside in Bethany Village with my beautiful wife and two gifted high school kids. Our latest addition to the family was a 3-year-old German Shepherd. I work as a software engineer in the large healthcare industry. Beyond my career, I am passionate about serving the community and have co-founded two non-profits, MTTA and MHU, both with the shared goal of uniting people and strengthening the community.

Why are you running for Mayor Office?
As you're aware, the decision on cityhood is in this election, and a positive vote will establish the first mayor for Mountain House.
Despite my lack of mayoral experience, I believe my years of corporate expertise and Community services will significantly contribute to the role and benefit the city.

Vision as Mayor
As we enter new chapter in our city hood, new challenges are waiting for us, I thoroughly considered all those challenges and developed a manifesto that support and guide us in right direction.
• As a new city, we require a means to generate income, and I strongly advocate for attracting more commercial businesses to Mountain House. Additionally, introducing hotels to bring in whopping 12% bed tax revenues for the city. I am a supporter of promoting a business and residential environment like Santana Row.
• Ensuring the safety of our residents is my top priority. With 7500 homes and a population of 30,000, I believe our city deserves its own police department, and I am strongly in favor of establishing one.
• Physical fitness is important for everyone; sports play a vital role in promoting health. I am in favor of establishing a indoor sports facility, an outdoor Cricket Stadium, and a senior center to support recreational needs within our community.
• Considering that most of our summer experiences either hot or windy conditions, my suggestion is to replace the Amphitheater with a well-planned multi-purpose indoor theater.
• I'm In support of having local green gas transit system that can connect every school and present and future shopping center including Walmart/Costco in Tracy, kids and senior citizen will ride free. Additionally, I support valley link project.

My decision to run for the mayor position arises from a profound and enduring enthusiasm for our community's well-being. Having served in my current position in IT delivery lead, I've witnessed both the successes and challenges. It became evident that we need a leader who not only understands the intricacies of governance but is also dedicated to propelling our community towards a brighter future.
What sets me apart from others vying for this position is a combination of experience, foresight, and a commitment to inclusive leadership. In my current role as a team leader and boss at my workplace, I've gained invaluable experience in leadership and organizational dynamics. Leading a team has refined my ability to navigate the nuances of team dynamics, collaboration, and ensuring that everyone contributes their best.
I've learned the importance of effective communication and providing clear expectations. Setting goals and empowering my team to achieve what has been promised, and I've seen firsthand how a motivated and well-coordinated team can surpass expectations.
My leadership journey extends beyond the corporate realm, as I've partnered with few friends to create two impactful non-profits dedicated to unify community together. The Mountain House Tracy Telugu Association (MTTA) and Mountain House United (MHU) stand as testament to my commitment to fostering togetherness. Both organizations reflect my belief in the power of unity.
Contending for this position is a combination of experience, anticipation, and a commitment for inclusive leadership. what truly distinguishes me is a forward-thinking, fresh ideas and a positive mind set. Our city needs a leader who can navigate the complexities of the present while anticipating the challenges of tomorrow. I bring not only a wealth of experience but also a commitment to innovation and adaptability.

My high level priorities as Mayor :
- Business and Economics : As a new city we need a channel to bring/generate income, and i am strong advocate of bringing more commercial businesses to Mountain. and Hotels to bring TOT (bed tax 12%) taxes to city.
- Law and Order : With 7500 homes and 30,000 population our city deserves own police department and I'm in favor of having our own department.
- Recreation Facilities : I'm in support of having our own full-ledged indoor sports facility, a out door Cricket Stadium, and a senior citizen center.
- Grand Theater Center for Arts : We live in high wind area, most of the summer is either hot or windy, my proposal is to have well planned multi purpose indoor theater in place of Amphitheater.
- Local Transport and Transit System : In support of having local green gas transit system and support valley link project

Dear Residents ,

On March 5th, 2024, Mountain House in California will hold two important elections:

Measure D: Cityhood Election:

This measure will ask voters whether Mountain House should incorporate as a city, effective July 1st. This is a major decision for the community, as it will give Mountain House more control over its own local government and finances.

Measure E: City Council and Mayor Election:

If Measure D passes, voters will also have the opportunity to elect a City Council and Mayor on March 5th. Measure E has two main options:

Option 1: City Council elections would be held by district, with each district electing one council member.

Option 2: City Council elections would be held at-large, with all voters in Mountain House voting for all five council members.

My Beloved Community Members,

I Raj Reddy, a Mountain House Resident and Community Leader announces my candidacy for Mayor.

I'm a proud resident of Mountain House since 2006 and father of two high school students, both attending Mountain House High. Recently, we welcomed our newest family member, Loki, a 2-year-old German Shepherd who brings us endless joy.

Beyond my career as a software professional, I'm deeply invested in our community. I co-founded non-profit organizations in Mountain House and Tracy, spearheading youth programs, organizing food drives, and aiding fire-stricken areas in 2020. I also cherish hosting annual cultural performances, celebrating our diversity and creating lasting memories.

My commitment extends beyond cultural events. I actively volunteer at community gatherings, expressing my sincere gratitude for this place I call home.

Driven by my extensive experience, proven track record, and unwavering dedication to Mountain House, I am excited to announce my candidacy for Mayor of our proposed city.
