Tag someone who should see our crews in action today 🚒 Our Mountain House firefighters ran a simulated apartment fire training scenario today, practicing a rescue with mock victims on a second floor balcony while flames threatened the first floor below. Training like this keeps our crews sharp and ready for the real thing. Thank you to everyone who serves and protects us 🙌

Highs hit 100° today and stay in the high 90s to 101° through Sunday, August 9, with lows only in the low to mid-60s. Stay hydrated, take breaks, find shade, and check on your neighbors. Today we’re celebrating an incredible career as Captain Fisk says goodbye to Mountain House Fire. 👋 For over more than a decade, Captain Fisk built programs that made our community safer and stronger 💪, leading our Community Risk Reduction Program and arson investigations 🔍, and serving as the San Joaquin County Joint Fire Investigation Unit Manager. Captain Fisk also developed our MH Fire CERT program 📋 and brought lifesaving initiatives to our department, including the Youth Firesetter Program, File of Life 🩺, American Red Cross Sound the Alarm 🔔, and the Safe Kids Car Seat Tech program 🚗. Beyond the technical work, Captain Fisk served as a labor negotiator and wrote our very first MOU 📝, led the French Camp Firefighters Association as Treasurer and then President 🎖️, created our annual Scholarship of Merit 🎓, supported fellow firefighters through the Peer Support Team 🤝, and even managed our social media for a time 📱. Grilling this week? Drop a 🔥 below and tag a friend who needs this reminder! Last night our crews responded to a fence fire that started from coals that hadn’t fully cooled down before being tossed out. It spread fast and got close to a home before our firefighters knocked it down. Nobody was hurt, but it’s a good reminder that hot coals can stay dangerous for hours, even a full day, after your last burger comes off the grill. The safest move is to let them cool completely in the grill with the lid closed, then dump them in a metal container with a lid, never in a trash can, paper bag, or up against a fence or dry brush. We love a good backyard cookout as much as you do 😊 so let’s just make sure the fun stays safe.

Tonight we are celebrating some incredible milestones for Mountain House Fire Department, and we want you to join in. Drop a 👏 in the comments for every name you see below.

First, congratulations to our newly promoted members. Greg Vitz steps into the role of Lateral Captain, Rosendo Ortiz becomes our new Lateral Engineer, and Frank Machado and Michael Cabrera have both earned the title of Engineer. Each of these promotions reflects years of hard work, dedication, and trust earned on the job.

We are also welcoming five brand new firefighters who are graduating from the academy tonight. Please help us congratulate Mathew Hathaway, Jeremy Davis, Kenneth Cabral, Stephen Kjeldgaard, and Mathew Kjeldgaard as they officially join the ranks of Mountain House Fire.

And finally, we want to recognize three of our own for a life saved. Captain Nate Thornberry, Captain Eloy Lobato, and Firefighter Caleb Subia performed CPR on a French Camp McKinley Fire District call that ultimately saved a life. This is exactly the kind of quick thinking and training that makes a difference when it matters most.

We have a Mountain House engine assigned to a strike team supporting fire crews at the Loomis Fire/the Lumbee Fire. Our firefighters left to help protect lives, homes, and land outside our own community, because that’s what mutual aid is all about. Stay safe out there, everyone.

Fireworks are illegal in Mountain House. All of them. And the fines are no joke. A first offense can cost you up to $1,250, and it only goes up from there. 💸

We know America 250 is a celebration worth going big for. 🎉 But one spark in dry July conditions can turn a backyard party into an emergency. Our homes, our parks, and our neighbors are worth protecting. 🏡

Leave the fireworks to the professionals and celebrate safe this year. ❤️

He took third place in BOTH the figure 8 and the main event at Sunday night’s derby, and what makes it even sweeter is that this was his very first time behind the wheel in a derby. 🚗💨 We could not be prouder of him. The stands were packed with a full house of fans, and the energy all night was incredible. Way to go, Ray! 👏
