Great Plains State Park Nestled between Tom Steed Lake and Wichita Mountains, Great Plains State Park showcases the best of southwestern Oklahoma's rugged landscape.

Hikers will enjoy the varied terrain comprised of boulder fields and native grass and mountain bikers can explore miles of fun and challenging trails. Anglers will find the lake stocked with plenty of crappie, hybrids and catfish. The park's prairie grasses, shrubs and trees also provide a natural environment for birds. Boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, water sports, mountain biking and hiking. Amenities:

The 2nd Annual Trash Off was a success! We had 12 come join in the fun! I have to give a big shout out to the 3 littles who came and picked up trash today. Y'all did amazing such big helpers! We collected 8 bags of trash, 2 tires, some junk and boxers in a tree.

We are about a month and a half away from the C.A.S.T for Kids event. Let me tell you a little bit about this event. Catch a Special Thrill for Kids foundation is a fishing event designed for special needs children. We set up a day (April 18) for the participants to come out to the lake and go fishing, we ask for volunteers with boats to take them out on the lake a give them a morning of fishing and then give them a chance to tell their fishing stories over a provided lunch. This event is free and we provide everything needed. If you know of a child that would enjoy this event or you have a boat and want to volunteer or just want to volunteer on the shore, please go to castforkids.org/event/tomsteed and get registered. We also need monetary donations that go directly to CAST for Kids Foundation. If you have questions or need help registering, please call 580.569.2032.
