Burglary Investigation – Criminal Arrest(s)

On February 19, 2026, at 20:34 hours, officers were dispatched to the Woodberry Manor section of Rice Township for a reported burglary of a private single-family dwelling. Upon arrival, it was found that the suspects entered the residence by force through a rear entry door. The items reported missing by the residents included jewelry, U.S currency, and other personal effects. Officers immediately launched a thorough and extensive investigation using all possible resources and investigative techniques. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the suspects were believed to be involved in other burglaries in Montgomery County and Bensalem Township in Pennsylvania, as well as West Windsor Township (New Jersey). In conjunction with our law enforcement partners in those jurisdictions, the suspects were identified, and evidence was gathered. These individuals are believed to be members of an organized burglary crew working out of the Queens section of New York City. These subjects involved in this criminal organization are all Colombian Nationals, and members of a larger South American Theft Group. Investigative work continues due to a possible connection to other area burglaries.

The following individuals have all been jointly charged by our Department, Bensalem Township Police, and the Montgomery County Detective Division with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and related offenses.

Daniel Alejandro García Arenas, Age 24, last known address: Toms River, NJ – Colombian National

Yeison Estiven González Rodríguez, Age 20, last known address: Newark, NJ – Colombian National

Robinson Jean Paul Moncada Patarroyo, Age 19, last known address: Queens, NY – Colombian National

Daniel Alejandro Garcia Arenas was arraigned in Montgomery County by Magisterial District Judge Rebar on 04/01/2026 and was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility. Robinson Jean Paul Moncada Patarroyo and Yeison Estiven Gonzalez Rodriguez are both in custody in out-of-state prisons and are awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.

The Rice Township Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to all partnering law enforcement agencies for their collaboration and support throughout this investigation. The coordinated efforts, information sharing, and professionalism demonstrated by each department were instrumental in identifying and apprehending those responsible. This case highlights the critical importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing organized criminal activity and ensuring those involved are brought to justice. Assisting agencies include: Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, Fairview Township, Butler Township, Bensalem Township, West Windsor Township (NJ) Police Departments, Montgomery County Detective Division, NYPD Burglary Unit, PA State Police, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Updated information will be released so as not to jeopardize the integrity of the investigation.

All persons are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

(In the interest of transparency, it is the policy of this department to disseminate information regarding incidents that are likely to generate significant interest among the public and media in a timely manner. While we make every effort to ensure the information is accurate to the best of our knowledge and belief, incidents are often fluid and rapidly evolving.
