Day 3 | Graham 8th Grade Yosemite Adventure 🏞️

Miles of trails, bridges to cross, and mountains to hike!

Our 8th graders were up bright and early for a full day of adventure! Some hiked more than 8 miles, spent over 6 hours on the trails, and ascended more than 1,700 feet in elevation! That's quite an accomplishment!

A HUGE thank-you to our wonderful chaperones and staff! We hope you get some well-deserved rest, too!😊

Day 2 | Graham 8th Grade Yosemite Adventure 🏞️

Another day, another breathtaking view! Some of our Graham 8th graders are enjoying some time along the Merced River near historic Stoneman Bridge, surrounded by Yosemite's towering granite cliffs and beautiful forests.

A little Yosemite history: Did you know that the Merced River begins high in the Sierra Nevada and flows through Yosemite Valley, helping shape its beautiful landscape? The name Merced comes from the Spanish word for "mercy." In 1806, Spanish explorers named the river after encountering its welcoming waters following a long, hot journey.

And a HUGE thank-you to our wonderful chaperones for keeping our kids safe, guiding their adventures, and sharing these amazing photos! Keeping track of a group of 8th graders in the wilderness might be just as challenging as hiking Half Dome!

Day 1 | Graham 8th Grade Yosemite Trip 🏞️

What an incredible way to begin the adventure! A breathtaking view of Yosemite, reminding us just how extraordinary our natural world is.

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” — John Muir

May this week inspire our Graham 8th graders to explore, discover, and experience the wonder of nature firsthand, gaining a deeper appreciation for the world around them.

A Quiet Week at Graham, but Plenty to Celebrate!

With our 8th graders away exploring Yosemite, it's a little quieter at Graham this week! We wish them a wonderful time reconnecting with nature, strengthening friendships, and making lasting memories.

It's also a perfect opportunity to recognize someone who helped bring national recognition to our school!

A special thank you to Peggy Prendergast, our former PTA President!

Peggy took the initiative and dedicated her time to applying for the National PTA School of Excellence Award, which Graham Middle School proudly received!

Thank you, Peggy, for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to our students, families, and school community! 👏

Paws down, today was the best day ever! 🐾✨
The therapy dogs came to visit, and calling them a hit is an understatement. The kids could barely contain their excitement waiting for their turn—and honestly, the dogs were just as thrilled, with tails wagging at top speed from the second they walked through the door.

A massive thank-you to the wonderful handlers who volunteered their time to make today so memorable. We’re already counting down the days until the next visit! 🐶❤️
