As we celebrate Christmas tomorrow, my heart is centered on the true meaning of this season โ Jesus Christ, the One who brings hope, peace, and light into our world. His birth reminds us of humility, service, and love โ the very values that guide how we care for one another as a community.
๐ โFor unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.โ โ Luke 2:11
May His presence fill your homes with joy, and may His peace rest on our city as we enter a new year.
2024 YearโinโReview
As I complete my first year serving as your City Council representative for Ward 1, Position 1, I want to say thank you for your support, your encouragement, and your trust. It has been an honor to serve you, and together weโve made meaningful progress for our city.
Here are some of the key accomplishments from this year:
Green Loop Bridge is now usable and nearing completion, with new sidewalks being installed to improve safety and walkability.
City budgets were approved, ensuring responsible planning and stability for the year ahead.
The bridge from the Folk Center to City Park has been repaired, improving access for families and visitors.
A new sandbox was installed, and we voted to repair the kiddie pool at the city pool so children can enjoy it again.
We successfully reinstated brush pickup, a service many residents rely on.
A new animal control ordinance was passed to support safety and responsible pet ownership.
A new police department ordinance was approved to strengthen operations and community support.
Designated smoking areas were established at the Picking Park to create a cleaner, healthier environment for families.
We assisted financially with the new senior center, investing in a space that will serve and support our older residents for years to come.
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our city employees, volunteers, and community members who care deeply about Mountain Viewโs future.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving you this year. Iโm grateful, Iโm hopeful, and Iโm excited for all thatโs ahead in 2025.
