Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas — Communities across Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas are facing significant wildfire activity today as high winds and dry conditions fuel rapidly spreading grass and brush fires. These dangerous conditions have placed homes, farmland, livestock, and critical infrastructure at risk, prompting emergency response efforts across multiple regions of the states.

Our hearts are heavy as we witness the impact these fires are having on Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas families, agricultural operations, and rural communities. We extend our deepest thoughts and prayers to all those affected.

Firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, and emergency management teams are working around the clock under extreme conditions to protect lives and property.

Farmers and ranchers across Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas are out in their fields creating firebreaks, moving equipment, and working alongside emergency crews to slow the spread of these fires. In the face of danger, many agricultural producers are using tractors and tillage equipment to cut containment lines, doing everything possible to protect neighboring homes, livestock, and communities affected by the fires.

Their selflessness and resolve demonstrate the strength and unity of U.S. rural communities.

We just had a fire call. Don't know what started it. But I will take a guess, since it was on the side of the road on Hwy 71, that it was possibly caused by a cigarette being thrown out a window. Please be mindful of the very windy conditions!

It's getting windy out there folks!! We already had a grass fire get out of control today and came close to the house. There is nothing you need to burn that is worth possibly losing your house. So Please, refrain from burning.

Thank you, from your Volunteer Fire Dept
