Mountainside Public Library is located on Constitution Plaza in Mountainside. Our friendly staff is available during all open hours to assist you.

The library features a large selection of books, periodicals, movies, music, audiobooks and reference resources. There are also public computer workstations, free wireless Internet access, a community meeting room, a children's center and regularly scheduled entertainment and educational events. We are pleased to announce that the roof and clerestory (roof-line) window replacement project will begin on or about August 20 and is scheduled for completion on or about Thanksgiving. The Library, along with the Borough, is doing our best to coordinate with the contractors to minimize disruption. However, as with any project of this magnitude, there will be times when all or parts of the library need to be closed for safety reasons or to avoid exposure to excessive noise or chemical odors.

We will make every effort to inform our patrons in advance of changes in our operating schedule and accessible areas within the library. Sudden weather changes and other unanticipated factors may result in last minute updates.

For the duration of the construction project, all programs will require registration so that library staff members are able to contact participants if there are schedule changes or closures.

Although this project may cause some short-term disruptions, the replacement of the 30-year old roof and nearly 60-year old windows is a critical investment that will help to ensure that the community will enjoy a sound and secure, leak-free library for many years to come.

🔎 Story Explorers is a fun program for Pre-K–aged children featuring a story and an accompanying activity that could be a craft, game, or something else exciting!
