The monthly Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission Meeting will be held in person AND virtually Tuesday, June 9, at 7 pm.

🚒 The new playground at Firefighters Memorial is set to be installed this summer! With that, there are a few tasks our Parks crew will be tackling in the coming weeks to ready the site for install. The first task is to remove the old firetruck on Wednesday, June 3 due to failed safety tests. Depending on the condition of the structure, the City plans to evaluate whether certain parts can be preserved to be placed in the park as historical art pieces in the future.

The Arts Advisory Commission has chosen works by Ken VanderPutten for the June art exhibit at the Mountlake Terrace Library. "From my days as a pre-teen with a paper route to my life now as a retired engineer, photography has always been a steady thread. I saved my early earnings to buy camera gear, inspired by my father’s love of taking pictures. I was fascinated by how a single photo could capture a moment and make it last.
Now that I’m retired, I’m enjoying the freedom to travel, and travel photography has become especially fun. I’m drawn to the small, often overlooked details that hold quiet beauty. Through my photos, I hope to share simple, meaningful stories and capture the fleeting moments that make life feel rich."
The library is located at 23300 58th Ave W, Mountlake Terrace.

Due to a maintenance issue, swim lessons are cancelled today, May 31. Hot tub and sauna remain open. Please check back for the afternoon Recreation Swim.

Parent's Night Out-Starlight Kids: Thank you to all the kids that attended our event this past Friday. We had such a great time seeing how much the kids enjoyed themselves. We had bubble magic and a Disco Paper Party brought to us by Soulful Kids. We will see you all again in the Fall 2026.
