This year’s Sno-Isle Reads Together title is ... "Remarkably Bright Creatures" by Shelby Van Pelt!🎉📚 🐙
Join this annual community reading program designed to spark meaningful conversations and connection through the power of storytelling.

Born and raised in Washington, Van Pelt’s luminous debut novel follows widow Tova Sullivan, who forms an unlikely friendship with a giant Pacific octopus reluctantly residing at the Sowell Bay Aquarium. Set in the Pacific Northwest, the novel explores grief, connection, and community as Tova searches for answers surrounding her son’s disappearance 30 years earlier.

With a bear sighting reported near the library in the last few days, the library would like to clarify that, despite what the statues near our entry might imply, we do not recommend that children or other humans attempt to ride on bears.

Please take some time to read about the upcoming library levy ballot measure to learn more about how our funding works and why this is up for a vote.

On March 23, the Sno-Isle Libraries Board of Trustees advanced a library levy ballot measure to restore the library levy rate to $0.47 per $1,000 of assessed property value within the Library District. Voters deciding whether to restore the library levy is a normal part of long-term public funding.

This August, voters will decide whether to restore the library levy to its previous rate, an important decision that will help shape the future of Sno-Isle Libraries.
