Moville Fire Rescue

Moville Fire Rescue Moville Fire & Rescue is a 100% all volunteer organization. We strive to serve the public in a professional manner while ensuring everyone goes home safe.

The Moville Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department is composed of up to 30 members. Our first due response area is comprised of 92 square miles. We also provide mutual aid to 13 other departments within Woodbury County. We provide a 24/7 service to the members of our Community and to those that travel through our district. In order to respond members carry pagers and are alerted to an emergency from the

County 911 call center. We responds to an average of 45 calls per year including; structure fires, vehicle fires, wild land fires, vehicle rescue, ag rescue and more. In order for our members to have the knowledge and skills to respond to a wide variety of calls in a professional manner we offer in house training on the third Monday of each month. There are also several fire schools within the State that offer excellent classes for our members.

This is a great PSA. I see this alot and while it may be comfortable it simply is not safe.

The firehouse dinner table has long been considered a sacred place for building camaraderie, decompress and to just relax and enjoy a meal with fellow brothers and sisters of the department. In keeping with this tradition we started a few years holding a meal before each monthly business meeting. It's an important time for members to get know one another and build our culture. This meal has always been prepared by one of our members taking turns each month. Our meal this month was however provided by the local branch of the Security National Bank and prepared by Outlaw BBQ. Big thankyou to Robin Beck and Outlaw BBQ for providing the meal along with some awsome Security National Bank swag. It was greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the department and your firefighter family Ben, great job!

This is what’s left behind at the station when a fire call comes in. Work boots from leaving their job. Lounge shoes from leaving their family at home. The people whose shoes are left behind aren’t just firefighters. They are husbands, wives, dads, moms, brothers, sisters, friends and neighbors. The people who drop everything when the pager goes off. The people who sacrifice their family time, birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, sleep and many other hours, to be there for complete strangers when they need us most. In the fire service, our number one goal is life safety. That includes our lives too. At the end of the call, these shoes need to be filled again. Help us help you by having and practicing your emergency evacuation plan, slowing down and paying attention when going through accidents scenes, testing your smoke alarms and following fire prevention tips. With your help, we can fill these shoes at the end of every call.

Let's all be smart and not do any burning. If you have burned any trees recently check them, one little spark can start off a wildfire in these conditions.

The combination of dry and breezy conditions will lead to elevated fire concerns this weekend. Please avoid any outside burning.
