🚑We can prevent injuries and save lives when our community comes together.

In observance of EMS Week 2026, fire agencies across Snohomish County are raising awareness about window falls.

In 2024, 19 children in Snohomish County fell from windows, including two tragic deaths. In 2025, that number dropped to 12—with zero deaths.

Through outreach and free window locks, we’ve made progress, but we’re not finished yet. Even a single window fall is one too many.

➡️ Contact your local fire department to learn about window safety and request a free window lock.

🐶 ... Today kicks off EMS Week 2026 with the theme "Improving Outcomes". During EMS Week, we want to recognize the incredible dedication and professionalism of our Firefighter Paramedics and Firefighter EMTs who serve our community every day.

🚑While many people think of the fire department responding mainly to fires, EMS-related incidents actually make up more than 80% of our service calls! From medical emergencies and vehicle accidents to assisting people in crisis, our EMS personnel are often there on someone’s worst day — providing skilled care, compassion, and reassurance when it matters most.

📚Their training, teamwork, and commitment are a critical part of our department’s mission and play a vital role in keeping our community safe and healthy. Please join us in thanking all of our Firefighter Paramedics and Firefighter EMTs during EMS Week for the lifesaving work they do 24/7.

Extra big thanks to FF/EMT Dower and FF/PM Herbert for sharing precious time for a photo and a pet!

Behind every firefighter is a family making sacrifices too.
Today we’re celebrating the incredible moms of our fire family, from those supporting behind the scenes to those serving in uniform themselves. ❤️
Thank you for the love, strength, sacrifice, and service you give every day.
Happy Mother’s Day! 🌷🚒
