On 05/05/2026 at approximately 2036 hours, officers with the Muldraugh Police Department and KSP responded to and investigated a complaint involving unlawful entry and property crimes at a private residential property located within the city limits of Muldraugh.

During the investigation, officers reviewed video surveillance footage, which captured a male and female subject unlawfully entering a building located on the property without permission or lawful authority. The investigation revealed that the subjects entered the structure with the intent to commit theft and caused property damage during the incident. Property taken during the offense was determined to have a value greater than $1,000 but less than $10,000.
Both subjects were positively identified and later located by Muldraugh officers living in the City of Muldraugh. After being advised of their Miranda rights, the male and female subjects admitted involvement in the incident and additionally admitted involvement in a prior Burglary and Theft by Unlawful Taking incident occurring at the same property on 04/22/2026. Some items have been recovered at this time. Additionally, a small silver small suv is believed to be involved with a third male subject.

Based upon the totality of the investigation, both subjects were placed under arrest and charged accordingly with Burglary 3rd Degree (KRS 511.040), Theft by Unlawful Taking $1,000–$10,000 (KRS 514.030), Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree (KRS 511.070), and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree (KRS 512.030).

🚔 MULDRAUGH POLICE UPDATE 🚔

Your police department has added a new 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe to replace aging, unreliable units — at ZERO cost to taxpayers.

Over the past year, we generated $35,982.26 in surplus revenue through proactive policing and reinvested it directly back into public safety. With a surplus auction in May expected to bring in another ~$10,000, we’re continuing to upgrade equipment without using allocated budget.

Even more, 2 officers are currently producing results comparable to the previous staff of 4. We are actively hiring and working toward full staffing by the end of 2026.

A full 1-year performance report will be released this week, and all funding records are available at City Hall as part of our commitment to transparency.

By slowing traffic and enforcing high-risk violations and drug interdiction on Dixie Highway, we are making Muldraugh safer for everyone. The people of Muldraugh deserve to feel safe — from their neighborhoods to the streets and onto Dixie Highway — and that is our mission every day.

We encourage you to attend public meetings, share your concerns, and contact the Chief directly anytime.
