The Mulliken Area Food Pantry extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Dolly Parton.

Dolly Parton will be remembered as one of America's greatest entertainers, but her impact on American families went far beyond the songs she wrote and the stages she performed on.

She spent decades using her success to help others.

* She founded The Dollywood Foundation to help children succeed in school.
* Her Buddy Program helped reduce the high school dropout rate for participating students from 35% to 6%.
* She created Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which sends free books to children from birth through age five and now sends more than 3 million books every month.
* She funded scholarships to help students continue their education.
* After the 2016 Tennessee wildfires, her My People Fund distributed more than $12 million to families who had lost their homes.
* She donated $1 million to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
* After Hurricane Helene, she personally donated $1 million to relief efforts, while her businesses and foundation contributed another $1 million.

For organizations like ours that work directly with families in need, that part of Dolly Parton's legacy means a great deal.

She understood something simple. Success means more when you use it to help somebody else. She put books in children's hands, helped students stay in school, supported sick children, funded medical research, and helped families rebuild after losing everything.

Millions of American families have been touched by her generosity, whether they ever listened to one of her songs or not.

Our thoughts are with her family and everyone mourning her loss.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing what giving back can look like.

Together We Can.

We brought in $386 today.

That may not sound like a lot, but each person in need who comes through our doors costs our organization only about $7 to provide food for.

It is so little for so much.

What we raised today can help us provide food for about 55 people in our community.

That is 55 people who will have more food at home because people chose to support the Mulliken Area Food Pantry today.

Thank you to everyone who donated, stopped by, shared our posts, or helped spread the word. Every dollar helps us keep food on the shelves and get it into the hands of people who need it.

If you would like to contribute to our cause and help us continue serving our community, you can donate here.

Names and places changed. Photos aren't real. But the stories are real. These are real stories from people in our community, and surrounding community.

This is why we do what we do:

True stories from the neighbors the Mulliken Area Food Pantry serves — names changed to protect their privacy.

Our web page is fully restored, and even updated. All thanks to a single individual, self hosting. We still haven't had any movement with Microsoft. Our tickets are being ignored. But the site is back up and running in full. If you can guess who fixed it and got it up, tag him in the comments.

Now we have recipes, stats, financials, stories. News. It's so much more than we had before!

We're Looking for Someone Handy...

Our little 5' × 3' shed is sitting here, untouched... waiting for someone with the right tools, a little patience, and the confidence to put it together.

If you've ever looked at a box full of parts and thought, "I know exactly what to do with that," we'd love to meet you.
The Mulliken Area Food Pantry is looking for a volunteer to assemble our new storage shed. It may be small, but we'd appreciate a firm foundation, tight screws, and a satisfying finish.

Think you're up for the job? Slide into our messages.

Not your type? Share this post—you might know someone who's the perfect fit.

Well the website is back. Kind of. No thanks to Microsoft who is still blowing us off and not responding to our tickets

Due to shortage of volunteers and abundance of smoke and heat the food pantry will be closed tonight. If you are in need of emergency food please message us as we do have volunteers that live close by and can meet over the weekend. Stay cool and not smoky
