Before Scotland plays their first World Cup match tonight (Go, Tartan Army!) we're looking forward to a beautiful morning and a packed weekend at Celtic Faire, one of the largest gatherings for Irish, Scottish, Welsh culture in Western New York!

There will be pipe bands and Highland games on both days this weekend, rain or shine. Plus history, artisans & tradespeople, Irish dance, food & drink and more. It's a great way to learn more about our region's Celtic roots.

Tickets are available at the door, and you can find more info at: https://gcv.pulse.ly/tdzrjomd0e

Celtic Faire is sponsored by Sage Rutty & Company, Inc.

Beware of flying cabers! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

One of the highlights of each year's Celtic Faire are the Highland Games in the Great Meadow—traditional feats of strength including the caber toss, hammer throw, and sheaf toss (which you can try your hand at, if you fancy seeing how high you can throw a sack of hay!)

Join us next weekend for Celtic Faire, featuring the traditional Celtic athletes of the Buffalo Heavies on both Saturday and Sunday. There will be plenty to see and do all weekend, including:

🎵 Scottish and Irish music and dancing
🍪Local food and drink
🧶An artisan fair featuring everything from jewelry to clothing, candles to cookies
👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 Representatives from Scottish clans, talking tartans and genealogy
🏦Museum tours and historic interpreters
🐄Highland cows (special visitors on Sunday!) and our own heritage farm animals

It's America's Pastime! ⚾

Base ball (as it was spelled in the 1800s) has been deeply entwined with American history since the 19th century. Each season, we host one of the oldest and most comprehensive vintage base ball programs in the country, and this Sunday is Opening Day for the men's teams! Take in the Opening Day parade, and then watch the Rochesters take on Flower City, and Oatka B.B.C. against Spring Creek.

It's base ball (and history) the way it was meant to be watched! Games continue on Sundays through June and July, capping off with the National Silver Ball Tournament in early August.
