Calling all artists! The deadline is Monday, September 28.

🎨 Artists, we want to see your vision of the land.

What does “open space” mean to you?

Now accepting submissions for Open Space: Art About the Land, Minnetrista’s annual juried exhibition celebrating Indiana artists and the many ways we connect with the natural world. Since 2001, this exhibition has invited artists to explore the beauty, stories, and spirit of the land through their creative perspectives.

Selected works will be exhibited at Minnetrista Museum & Gardens and the Anderson Museum of Art, giving artists the opportunity to share their work with audiences across East Central Indiana.

🌿 Open Space: Art About the Land
📅 Exhibition: November 7–January 3
📍 Minnetrista Museum & Gardens & Anderson Museum of Art

A portion of proceeds from the exhibition will benefit Red-tail Land Conservancy, supporting efforts to preserve and restore Indiana’s wildlife habitats and natural spaces.

It's been good tabling at Ivy Tech Community College Muncie's “Lights. Camera. YOU” event and meeting the Ivy Tech community and friends. Thank you for including us and to everyone who stopped by to learn about MuncieArts and meet Samantha Cooper, who started this week as the Humanities in Action intern from the Ball State College of Sciences and Humanities. Welcome, Samantha!

Over the past several months, MuncieArts has been listening to artists, arts organizations, community leaders, partners, and residents as we reimagine how the organization can best serve Muncie in the years ahead. That work has led to a set of proposed strategic priorities, and now we’d like one more final check from the community. Join us to hear where the Reimagination Plan is headed, react to the key recommendations, and help us make sure the final plan reflects Muncie’s creative strengths. You are invited to join us on either Tuesday, September 8 at 4:30 pm or Wednesday September 9 at 5:30 pm at MadJax (515 E Main St) for an interactive conversation and opportunities to help support our growth.

We have always said our board is a working board and Kim Miller exemplifies that by leading by example as our board president. We are very proud of her and that she was recognized by Destination: Muncie this way. Thank you for seeing what she does for us and our community as a whole. Muncie is certainly a better place to live because of all she does!
