We are currently contacting all of the applicants who applied for the Muncie Teen Internship Program to schedule their interview. Interviews will be conducted next week unless there is a schedule conflict due to spring break plans. If you do not receive a call by Thursday check your voicemail as we are leaving messages or contact our office at (765) 747-4858.

As we are only able to hire 50 youth interns this year we will not be reopening the application or accepting any late applications.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the process of hiring our 2026 summer interns.

The St. Patrick's Day Parade is still on tonight!

If you plan on attending the Parks Board Meeting tonight at City Hall please park on the surrounding streets as no parking will be allowed in the City Hall parking lot after 4 pm.

🍀 The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is STILL ON for today! 🍀

We’re excited to see everyone downtown to celebrate one of our favorite traditions. Please note that road closures in the downtown area will begin at approximately 5:45 PM and remain in place until the conclusion of the parade.

Just prior to the 6:00 PM start, the following closures will be in effect:
• Walnut St. will be closed from Wysor St. south to just south of the roundabout
• East-to-west traffic will be restricted from Jefferson St. to High St.
These closures are in place as the parade travels down Walnut and returns up Mulberry to ensure traffic does not cut through the route.

Plan ahead, allow extra time for travel, and use caution when navigating the area.

After the parade, we encourage you to stick around and enjoy everything downtown has to offer! Take advantage of the DORA district and support our local small businesses, restaurants, and bars as they celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Bundle up, wear your green, and we’ll see you downtown! ☘️

Muncie Parks and Recreation is currently putting together a committee to complete our new 5 Year Parks Master Plan for 2026-2030. We have received great input from community members that have filled out the survey and we want to hear from as many people as we can. This input will allow us to plan out our next five years and will assist us as we continue to make our parks better and create more programming. The community’s input is important to us and ask everyone to use the link below to complete the Parks Survey.
