Please keep our brothers and sisters at Picture Rocks Volunteer Fire Company and the family of Bert in your thoughts and prayers!

It is with profound sadness the membership of Picture Rocks Volunteer Fire Company announce the unexpected death of one of our own. Roberta “Bert” Phillips has dedicated countless hours to the community through the fire company as an EMT, ambulance captain, secretary, and numerous fundraising committees. Bert was always working behind the scenes ordering and preparing food for our fundraisers.

Our hearts go out to Bert’s family and friends during this difficult time.

8/27/2026 at 6:35pm Station 52, along with boats from Station 50 (Laporte) and Station 26 (Picture Rocks), were dispatched for a water rescue at 770 Route 220 in Davidson Township. Chief 52 arrived on scene, finding an individual trapped inside the house on the second story with water blocking the only entrance to the apartment.

Engine 1-52 arrived, and crews put a ladder to the second story window and were able to safely remove the victim from the house.

Ambulance 52 transported the individual back to the fire house until they were able to get picked up.

Boats from 50 and 26 stood by in the event that there could be more issues in the area.

Station 52 and 26 fire police assisted with the road closures until PennDot took over.

While doing traffic control, fire police encountered a group of four vehicles and a tractor trailer who did not stop and ran through the flooded roadway. A friendly reminder for all motorist to be alert, stop for fire police, and do not drive through flooded roadways.

The Muncy Valley Area Volunteer Fire Company will be having their 14th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday July 17, 2026 at Mill Race Golf Course in Benton, PA.

We hope you will come out and support our fire company and play a round of golf! You can use the forms posted below to sign up.

We’re so excited to kick off our 7th Annual Fuel the Cause Fundraiser! 🚨

In case it's your first time hearing about Fuel the Cause, here's what you need to know: Nearly 90% of firefighters in Pennsylvania are volunteers. They sacrifice their safety and time with their families to keep us safe, and they rely heavily on donations to fund essential training, equipment, and emergency response. But for most fire companies in PA, volunteers and donations are down.

Over the past six years, we've partnered with our customers and sponsors to raise over $700,000 for the fire companies that serve our stores. Here's how you can help us make this year's fundraiser our biggest one yet:

🚗 Fuel Up – With help from Pennsylvania Skill games, we’re donating 2¢ per gallon of gas sold in April and May to local fire companies.
🍔 Eat Up – Grab a meal from our limited time Firehouse Foods menu, and a portion of the proceeds goes directly to volunteer fire departments.
🔥 Round up – Donate your spare change when you check out at any Nittany MinitMart store.
