Incident Narrative – Brush Fire
Munfordville Fire & Rescue
Date: 12/11/2025
Location: 219 Old Main St., Wooded area near Clayton Station Apartments
Time of Dispatch: Approximately 1900 hours

Munfordville Fire and Rescue was dispatched to reports of a brush fire in the wooded area near 219 Old Main Street at approximately 1900 hours on December 11, 2025. Upon arrival, crews found that an active fire had been ignited within a brush pile maintained by Roten Tree Service. The fire was located in the wood line adjacent to Clayton Station Apartments and was deeply seated within a large pile containing mulch, brush, and sizable wood blocks.

Due to limited vehicle access, firefighters deployed more than 250 feet of hand-laid hose into the woods to reach and contain the fire. Roten Tree Service was notified and responded to the scene, assisting by using skid steers to clear an area around the pile to help confine the fire and improve access for suppression. Bonneville Fire Department Hart County SO Munfordville PD and Horse Cave PD assisted on scene.

During extinguishment operations, a Munfordville Fire tanker/pumper experienced an electrical malfunction attributed to ice accumulation on exterior switches caused by the ongoing cold and frozen precipitation. The malfunction resulted in a fire within the pump panel, rendering the apparatus out of service. No injuries were reported, and the fire was ultimately contained to the original areaaa
