I want to thank the voters, my family, volunteers, donors, and everyone who worked on my campaign. This race was challenging, but regardless of who you supported, we all share the same goal of making Zone 1 a better place for our students, families, and community.

My priorities remain the same: supporting and fully funding our public schools, investing in our teachers, and ensuring the safety and success of every student.

I am honored by the opportunity to represent Zone 1. I look forward to this exciting new role and to working alongside my fellow board members to serve our community and move our schools forward together. Thank you for your trust, your support, and your belief in this campaign.

The ACLU of Tennessee surveyed the candidates a while ago and this was important for me to answer.

I don't know how I missed the question about racial identity. Of course I would NOT support the removal of books with racial identity themes from school libraries.

Children are required to be supervised by their guardian in our public libraries so parents should immediately censor books that they don't want their kids to read.

In schools, wouldn't it be incredible if kids read in school and become adults who read? I visited the new Poplar Grove Middle School and saw their incredible library. It should inspire everyone to read.

Sanitizing and banning books is censorship of difficult truths. READ BOOKS - PAPER BOOKS. Talk about them as a family. Teach kids to value reading and think critically about tough truths.
