For one mother and her three children, the journey from homelessness to home was built one step at a time.
After moving to Middle Tennessee, their family experienced homelessness and came to The Salvation Army looking for shelter, support and a path forward.
During her time in our program, this mom worked hard to create a more stable future for her family. She maintained employment, strengthened her budgeting and financial skills, prioritized her well-being and created a safe, nurturing environment for her children.
There were challenges along the way, but she kept moving forward.
By the time she completed the program, she had saved money, stayed current on her bills and was ready for the next step. She and her children moved into an apartment of their own, and with both parents employed, their family had a stronger foundation for the future.
This is what moving from crisis to stability can look like. Not one big moment, but many small steps that eventually lead to something life-changing:
A safe home. Greater stability. And the opportunity for a family to begin again.
We were honored to walk alongside them on their journey home.
