• To provide safe, reliable drinking water to residents, four utility districts were created in Rutherford County: Stones River, Florence, Double Springs and Rockvale. In 1968, these entities merged to become Consolidated Utility District (CUD) of Rutherford County.
• Today, our distribution system contains more than 1,400 miles of pipe, which is greater than the distance from Murfreesboro to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
• Our Board of Commissioners consists of five members and three advisors, all of whom are CUD ratepayers. Carter Woodruff, President; Dr. Rosemary Owens, Vice President; Mr. Craig Lynch, Secretary/Treasurer; Lynnisse Roehrich-Patrick, Commissioner; and Mr. Chip Pinion, Allen Swader, and Dr. Robin Blackman serve as advisory members. Lead the work that keeps our community’s wastewater systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Consolidated Utility District is looking for an experienced and dependable Wastewater Maintenance Foreman to join our team. Reporting to the Wastewater Manager, this role leads a crew responsible for the maintenance and repair of recirculating sand filter systems, septic tank effluent pump (STEP) systems, and drip irrigation disposal fields.

As a key leader within the wastewater department, the Foreman will help guide daily operations, support crew members, and ensure work is completed safely and effectively. This position also plays an important administrative role, including approving crew timecards and time off and maintaining monthly HR logs.

What You'll Do
✅Lead and direct wastewater maintenance crews in daily operations.
✅Oversee maintenance and repairs for wastewater treatment and disposal systems.
✅Help ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards.
✅Serve as a dependable resource and leader for crew members.
✅Manage crew timecard and time-off approvals.
✅Maintain monthly HR documentation and logs.
✅Respond to emergency call-outs when needed.

What We're Looking For
✅High school diploma or GED.
✅State of Tennessee Grade II Biological/Natural Wastewater Certification.
✅State of Tennessee Grade I Collection System Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 18 months of hire.
✅Valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement and a safe driving record.
✅NIMS ICS-100 and IS-700 certifications.
✅Competent Person Training Certification.
✅Ability to respond to emergency call-outs on a 24-hour basis.
✅Residency within a 45-minute response time of the CUD main office, maintained as a condition of employment.
