The City Schools Foundation The Foundation’s goals are to boost the school system’s financial support in the areas of science and math, and academic competition among students.

The organization benefits Murfreesboro City Schools’ 8,000 plus pre-K through 6th grade students and serves as a venue for other foundations and corporations to make significant contributions that can impact the school system as a whole. The intent is to bring local resources to bear on local needs. The group was chartered in 2005. The Foundation’s goals are to boost the school system’s financial

support in the areas of science and math, academic competition and excellence among students, and to address financial parity in all schools.

🎉 Kickoff to Kindergarten! 🎉

Starting kindergarten is a big (and exciting!) step, and we’re here to help your family feel ready.

Join us for Kindergarten Preview Day on May 12, 2026 and get a first look at what makes Murfreesboro City Schools such a special place for young learners. Tour times vary by school. Please check your school website for more information.

During your visit, you can:
🍎 Take a guided tour of the school
🍎 Visit the kindergarten hallway
🍎 Peek into a classroom
🍎 Ask questions and get help with registration

Need help getting registered?
Registration Assistance will be available on May 12 at all schools and at the MCS Central Office (2552 S. Church St.) from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Translators will be available during this time.

We can’t wait to welcome your family and help you get started on this exciting new journey!

The 19th Annual Excellence in Education event is this Friday, and we are excited to celebrate alongside the incredible sponsors and community members who support Murfreesboro City Schools.
