Putting God first......

Jesus promised us perfect peace-a total, complete, and absolute peace. Perfect peace certainly includes freedom from financial problems. How can any of us have peace it we worry about financial problems?

So how can we put God first and receive perfect peace? What does that mean?

God has two requirements for perfect peace. We must keep him first at all times. God’s law of prosperity will work to the degree that week keep him first in our lives. The blessings we receive will be in direct proportion too the degree we keep him first. Keeping him first means focusing our minds on him at all time and not on our problems.

Secondly, we must trust him completely. We must spend time to find out what the Bible tells us to do. And do it. We must spend the time required to understand God’s laws for abundant life and apply them to our own lives.

So how do we do these things?

There are three things that we must do to keep him first in our lives and trust him completely:
1. We must speak his word constantly (Joshua 1:8)
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you 3shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

2. We must constantly study his word and meditate on it day and night.
• 1 Blessed ais the man
• Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
• Nor stands in the path of sinners,
• Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
• 2 But chis delight is in the law of the LORD,
• And in His law he meditates day and night.
• 3 He shall be like a tree
• Planted by the 3rivers of water,
• That brings forth its fruit in its season,
• Whose leaf also shall not wither;
• And whatever he does shall prosper.

Finish what you start. Gal. 5:7-8
• Becoming successful financial is hard because it’s a marathon but most people are only prepared for a sprint. It’s like 20,000 in one area & you trying to get out a different exit by walking against the crowd.
• How will you keep yourself motivated when all the excited & the cheer of the crowd is gone?
• Champions are never remembered for how they started, but how they finished.”

A. When you don't have a budget, you will not be successful in life.

1. Everyone needs a budget, regardless of their income level.
2. Jesus endorses a budgetary lifestyle.
a. You must calculate the cost before you begin building something. Otherwise, you may not be able to finish it (Luke 14:25-30).
B. What is it you plan to build?

1. Do you intend to build a relationship with God?
2. Do you intend to build a successful marriage?
3. Do you intend to build a house?
4. Do you intend to build a business?
5. No matter what you plan to build, you must have a budget.
C. Calculate, count, assess and figure out what you need to do to successfully complete what you start.

1. What is necessary to carry out the project, or idea, to completion?
a. Money
b. Time
c. Resources
d. Research
e. Commitment to the Word of God
D. There are consequences for not counting the cost of what you are building.

1. You will find yourself starting things and never finishing.

2. You will have only laid the foundation.
a. Many people get stuck in the foundation stage.

3. A foundation is not significant if there isn't anything built upon it.

4. When you don't plan the details, you become unable to complete the building process.
a. Are you the type of person who is always starting things and never finishing them?

5. Too many Christians are giving up and quitting at the foundation stage.
6. Finishers go to the next level.
7. God can help you get your building process back on track.
a. Use God's Word as your final authority.
8. When you don't count the cost, and you can't finish what you start, all who see will mock you.
9. As Christians, we are finishers. We finish what we start.
10. Your whole life is based on you completing the will of God for your life.
Finish what you start. Gal. 5:7-8
• Becoming successful financial is hard because it’s a marathon but must people are only prepared for a spirit. It’s like 20,000 in one area & you trying to get out a different exit by walking against the crowd.
• How will you keep yourself motivated when all the excited & the cheer of the crowd is gone?
• Champions are never remembered for how they started, but how they finished.”

E. Jesus' budgetary requirements for being His disciple:

1. Jesus says, "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple" (Luke 14:26).

2. When Jesus says to "hate" your father, mother, wife, husband, children and others, He means to have indifference, or relative disregard for them in comparison to your attitude toward God.
a. God must be your priority, even over family and loved ones.
b. Get rid of selfishness-it's not about you anymore. Die to your flesh so God can live through your life.
c. It will cost you a desire to be like Him in order to be His disciple.
d. There must be a decision and discipline.

F. Live by a budget.
1. A budget is the act of deciding how much money you're going to spend on each item; a decision, written down, determining what you are going to spend based on your income, bills and debt.

2. Sticking to a budget is the act of following through with what is written on paper.

3. A budget can be the ticket to living the life you've always imagined.
4. The world's greatest budget doesn't, of its own accord, make any of your financial goals a reality. You must adhere to it.
5. If you can find any unmet financial goal in your life, that is a reason to get on a budget.
G. Five steps to developing a budget:
1. Have a financial goal worksheet.
2. Make a daily expense sheet (Monday - Sunday) listing item and amount.

3. Make a daily summary sheet, summarizing the categories the money you spend can be determined and listed.

4. Create a monthly expense sheet.

5. Determine your income and assets (of legal money that comes in and can be counted on).

Everyday we come to the crossroads of life. Deuteronomy 30 tells us we can choose blessings or curses. The Bible is the only book on finances that shows you where to invest and not lose. Read God’s word. Deuteronomy 30:14, 15 The Word is very near you and in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity. It’s a choice!

Fear God, obey His commandments, walk in His ways, seek His wisdom and apply it with skill and diligence and THAT - is the power to make wealth!
Blessings, +
1. Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold the picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop this picture. Never think of yourself as failing: never doubt the reality of the mental image. That is most dangerous, for the mind always tries to complete what it pictures. So always picture “success” no matter how badly things seem to be going at the moment.

2. Whenever a negative thought concerning your personal powers comes to mind, deliberately voice a positive thought to cancel it out

3. Do not build up obstacles in your imagination. Depreciate every so-called obstacle. Minimize them. Difficulties must be studied and efficiently dealt with the be eliminated, but the must be seen for only what they are. They must not be inflated by fear thoughts.

4. Ten times a day repeat these dynamic words, “if God be for us, who can be against us? Rom 8:31 (Repeat them slowly and confidently)

5. Get a competent Financial Mentor in your life to help you understand why you do what you do. Learn the origin of your inferiority and self-doubt feelings which often begin in childhood. Self-knowledge leads to a cure.

6. Ten times each day practice the following affirmation, repeating it out loud id possible. “ I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Phil 4:13) the magic statement is the most powerful antidote on earth to inferiority thoughts.

7. Make a true estimate of your own ability, then raise it 10 per cent. Do not become egotistical, but develop a wholesome self-respect. Believe in you God’s released power

8. Put yourself in God’s hands. To do that simply state. “I am in God’s hands.” Then believe you are NOW receiving all the power you need. “feel” it flowing into you Affirm the “the Kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21) in the form of adequate power to meet life’s demands.

9. Remind yourself that God is with you and nothing can defeat you. Believe that you now Receive power from Him.
