As we get nearer to the next State Executive Committee meeting and announcements and endorsements start rolling out , we want to take time to THANK Kyshia Brassington.
We are often asked what the RNC Committeewoman does….so here is a very brief description of the role. Kyshia - You have served your State well! Thank you for all you have done for ALL Republicans In NC and the US!
A state’s Republican National Committee (RNC) Committeewoman is one of three official members representing that state on the Republican National Committee. Each state and territory has:
One National Committeeman
One National Committeewoman
The State Party Chair
Together, they represent their state within the national Republican Party structure.
Core Responsibilities
An RNC Committeewoman’s role is part party ambassador, part strategist, part organizational leader.
Duties often include:
Representing the State at the National Level
Voting on RNC rules, resolutions, leadership elections, and party business
Participating in RNC meetings and committee work
Serving as a liaison between the national party and the state party
Supporting Republican Candidates & Party Infrastructure
Helping recruit and support candidates
Assisting with fundraising and donor relationships
Coordinating grassroots engagement and voter outreach
Promoting party messaging and priorities
National Convention
Responsibilities
During presidential election years, the Committeewoman:
Serves as an automatic delegate to the Republican National Convention
Helps organize state delegation activities
Participates in platform and rules discussions
Committee Work
Many RNC members serve on specialized committees such as:
Rules
Resolutions
Budget
Technology
Election Integrity
Minority Outreach
Faith Engagement
The influence of the position often depends on the individual’s relationships, initiative, fundraising ability, and involvement in national party operations.
How Many Meetings Are There?
Typically, the full RNC meets:
3 times per year during non-presidential years
Sometimes 4+ times during presidential election cycles
Meetings are usually held in different cities around the country.
In addition:
Committee meetings
Conference calls
Regional trainings
Convention planning sessions
Fundraising events
can substantially increase travel and time commitments.
