Today is Transfiguration Sunday, the final Sunday in Epiphany. The final awakening for us is to understand Jesus is truly human and truly divine. Jesus conversed with Moses and Elijah, representing the Law and the Prophets. They discussed what would happen when Jesus entered Jerusalem, which is a reference to the coming Passion. Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected after 3 days to provide for my salvation

9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Southern Illinois University Carbondale Saluki Stadium. Participants climbed 110 flights to represent the height of the World Trade Center Towers.

In conjunction with Arise Veteran Foundation in St Louis, the village has remodeled a 3 bedroom home and is finishing conversion of a convenience store to provide a community grocery store. They are hoping to find a disabled veteran with a family who can manage the store. The home is included as part of the deal and is diagonally across the street from the store. Through us, the Illinois State Agency for Surplus Property (ILSAS), a division of CMS, the surplus property you are eligible to request from the federal government, is FREE. Your only cost is your transportation cost to either pick up or ship the property from its current location. Details regarding the Federal Surplus Property Program can also be found on our website at www.illinois.gov/fedsurplus.

50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War at Marion VA Medical Center. If you have photographs, you can submit them to be included in the display. The event is Wednesday, March 29 from 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM at the Behavioral Health Building on the Campus in Marion.

How to Submit Vietnam Veteran Photos

 Submit a 4X6 or 5X7 photograph of a Vietnam Veteran.
 Since photos cannot be returned, we are asking for all submissions to be email ONLY to [email protected]
 Interesting information provided about Veterans in the photos may be included.
 Please submit all photos no later than Friday, March 24, 2021.
 Each photo submitted must be accompanied with VA Form 10-3203 (July 2020) Photo Release Form.
 The Veteran or the Veteran’s family (if deceased or unable to give consent) is giving the Marion VA Health Care System consent to display the picture physically and/or digitally.
 If you’ve submitted a photo in the past, you need not resubmit as we maintain past submissions.

Together, let’s honor our Veterans for their service and sacrifice.
