- As the Election Official, the County Clerk supervises and records voter registration, oversees vote counts, manages polling places, and election judge recruitment/training.

- The county clerk also records, maintains and issues certified copies of official birth certif

icates, death certificates, marriage licenses, and military discharge.

- Processes and preserves all expenses and bills of account acted upon by the board. Collects delinquent tax payments and calculates Enterprise Zone abatements.

- Records all deeds and instruments of title for the property in Jackson County, including Warranty Deeds, Quit Claim Deeds, Mortgages, Releases, Plats, Easements, and Liens.

- The county clerk attends all county board meetings and is responsible for keeping an accurate record of all the proceedings of the board.

Its Primary Election Day! 🗳️

Registered voters of Jackson County can vote at their precinct or the Courthouse until 7:00 PM. If you are not registered or need to update a recent change of address you must go to the Courthouse or Carbondale Civic Center with a valid I.D. and proof of current address.

Please call the Election Department at 618-687-7366 with any questions regarding registration or polling places.
